Accurately assessing the risks of contaminants requires understanding of
complex ecological interactions, elemental cycling, and interactive
effects of natural and contaminant stressors. In this new workshop from
NIMBioS, join in the discussion on the value of linking Ecological
Stoichiometry with Ecotoxicology and help to develop a series of
empirically testable and robust models of individual and population
dynamics subject to stoichiometric constraints and contaminant

Subject: Post-doc: Stochastic Intracellular Transport, U Edinburgh

Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoctoral position in the area
of mathematical biology. The position will be based at the School of
Mathematics, University of Edinburgh, and is available to start on
October 1st 2017.

The successful candidate will join the Edinburgh Applied and
Computational Mathematics research group and will work with Dr. Lyubov
Chumakova on the project funded by the Leverhulme Trust, Grant ref:
RPG-2017-249 "Dynamic Self-Organization of Stochastic Intracellular
Transport".

This project is in collaboration with the experimental biology lab of
Dr. Natalia Bulgakova, University of Sheffield.

 Postdoctoral position: Mathematical modelling of microbial ecology and
evolution, University of Exeter

We are recruiting a Research Fellow to participate in an
interdisciplinary project combining mathematical modelling and
experimental microbial ecology/evolution (post advertised separately).
The position is available from 1st October 2017 for the period of 3
years. Our research will consider laboratory communities of devastating
human fungal pathogens that kill more people than tuberculosis, malaria
or breast cancer, focusing on Candida species and we will quantify how
microbial community composition affects antimicrobial resistance.

The successful applicants will be working in the interdisciplinary lab
of Professor Ivana Gudelj, Biosciences, University of Exeter.

Applicants will posses a PhD in a quantitative discipline (mathematics,
physics, engineering or computer science) and ideally be familiar with
ordinary differential equations, their use in modelling, analysis
(Dynamical Systems techniques) and simulation.

Subject: Post-doc: HIV Dynamics, UNSW Sydney

The infection Analytics team at UNSW Sydney is seeking a post-doc in
mathematical biology, to model infection dynamics in HIV.

The Infection Analytics Program at the Kirby Institute is an
interdisciplinary team including applied mathematicians, physicists, and
computer scientists, who collaborate widely with around 30 experimental
groups around the world to model within-host and epidemiological aspects
of infection and immunity.

Salary: $72,509 - $96,677 plus 9.5% superannuation and leave loading
Fixed Term, Full-time until 31 December 2018

The position of Post-Doctoral Fellow will be responsible for
mathematical modelling of experimental data on viral dynamics of HIV
during treatment and after treatment interruption to better understand
HIV latency. This will involve familiarity with HIV literature and
underlying biology, biostatistical analysis, and ODE and stochastic
modelling.

To be successful in this role you will:
-Demonstrated mathematics and computer programming skills with
experience in modelling experimental health related data
-Proven experience and interest in modelling in immunology and infection
dynamics
-Proven evidence of publications in a related discipline in peer
reviewed journals
-Post graduate degree, preferably PhD, in mathematics/physics or other
quantitative discipline

Subject: Post-doc: Box Tree Moth, Savoie Mont-Blanc U

We are looking for a postdoc for a research project on the box tree moth
(Cydalima perspectalis). The postdoc will build a theoretical model to
predict the population dynamics of box trees, box tree moths and their
potential parasitoids in Europe, in a metacommunity context. The model
should help management decisions, in particular concerning the use of
De
studying the impact of box tree moths on the ecosystems they have
recently invaded, some of the model parameters will be estimated via
this larger project. The research team is located at the Savoie
Mont--Blanc University (Chambéry, France) and is composed of population
and functional ecologists (LECA lab); and mathematicians (LAMA lab).

The candidate should have experience with theoretical ecology, coding
and statistical analysis, and an interest in field work in ecology. A
Ph.D. in applied mathematics or theoretical biology is required. Please

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Texas Tech University
invites applications at the level of assistant professor for a
tenure-track position beginning Fall 2018. Strong preference will be
given to candidates who work in the areas of computational applied
mathematics. The department seeks candidates who will be engaged in
nationally visible scholarship, establish externally-funded research
programs, interact with the existing research groups, participate in
interdisciplinary collaborations and service, involve graduate students
in their research, and show excellence in teaching at the graduate and
undergraduate levels. A Ph.D. degree in mathematics, applied
mathematics, statistics, or a related area, at the time of appointment,
is required. A demonstrated record of peer reviewed publication is
expected. Senior applicants are expected to provide a strong record of
scholarly research, teaching effectiveness, and professional service.
