The Beckman Lab at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in Washington, DC and the Georgetown Innovation Center for Biomedical Informatics is recruiting a computational/dry lab postdoctoral fellow to support a newly funded, Partnering PI DoD Breast Cancer Research Program Breakthrough Award (partnering with Dr. Rebecca Riggins) studying the role of sub clonal hypermutation in HER2+/ER+ breast cancer. Our research program incorporates computational biology, mathematics, cell/molecular biology, mouse models, and single-cell ‘omics technologies to devise new strategies that overcome treatment resistance in this challenging form of breast cancer. LCCC is part of the Georgetown University Medical Center, and the only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in our Nation’s capital. The position reports jointly to Dr. Robert Beckman and Dr. Matthew McCoy
About Us: Dr. Beckman is an oncology clinical researcher and mathematical
biologist (https://icbi.georgetown.edu/beckman/), Dr. McCoy is a computational biologist (https://icbi.georgetown.edu/mccoy/, and Dr. Riggins is a basic/translational breast cancer scientist (https://sites.google.com/georgetown.edu/rigginslab/home). We are a highly collaborative team, and committed to supportive mentoring practices and your career development.About You: PhD in a relevant discipline (computer science, mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics or similar). Willingness to learn and contribute to a creative and multidisciplinary group is a must. Fluency in R, python, and statistics is required. Competitive applicants should also
be conversant in calculus and linear algebra.
