Dear colleagues and students,
We would like to draw your attention to MathBioU, a research program in mathematical biology for undergraduate students taking place at UC Irvine, June 29th to August 7th, 2020. Students will work in small groups with a PI in a computational biology research project, and they will receive a stipend. In addition, there will be weekly activities in skills development, including how to give presentations, or how to write mathematics using a computer program. By the end of the project the students will give a presentation about their research and submit a paper on their work. Participation in MathBioU will not only provide a window into a career in research and academia, but also significantly strengthen applications for graduate school.
For applications and further information, see our application website at http://cellfate.uci.edu/mathbiou-math-explr/mathbiou-2/ Please send an email to German Enciso (enciso@uci.edu) if you have any questions about this program. The deadline for application is April 8th, with a first round of evaluations March 13th. Please note that only US citizens and permanent residents are eligible to receive a stipend, although other students may also participate in the program without a stipend. Best regards,
German Enciso
