Postdoc in Math Biology at Temple University

The Temple University Department of Mathematics invites applications for one postdoctoral (non tenure track) position in applied mathematics, with the title Research Assistant Professor. The initial appointment will be for two academic years with a teaching load of one course per semester in the first three semesters of the appointment and of two courses in the fourth semester. Renewal to a third year is pending availability of external funds.We are looking for candidates to participate in an interdisciplinary project studying microbial communities growing on stone monuments. Duties will involve a combination of field work, data analysis, and mathematical modeling. The candidate is expected to collaborate with Dr. Isaac Klapper. Prior experience or interest in modeling of microbial communities including their physical and chemical properties is welcome but not required, as is previous experience with data analysis. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field by the time of appointment.
