The Department of Mathematics at the University of Florida invites applications for one full-time, nine-month tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor to begin August 16, 2022. This search is part of the University of Florida’s AI initiative that aims to expand the role of AI in higher education and research (https://ai.ufl.edu); we, therefore, welcome applicants whose research bridges the interface between AI, data science, computational medicine, and biomathematics. This includes, but is not limited to, mathematical biology, probability, and stochastic processes, dynamical systems, machine learning, image and signal processing, numerical analysis, and optimization. The University is home to HiPerGator, one of the most powerful high-performance computers at a US public university (https://www.rc.ufl.edu/services/hipergator/). We particularly encourage applicants whose research program can enhance the collaboration between the Department of Mathematics and the Systems Medicine Laboratory (http://systemsmedicine.pulmonary.medicine.ufl.edu/) and utilize resources available at the University of Florida, specifically the new HiPerGator AI NVIDIA GPU SuperPod (https://news.ufl.edu/2020/07/nvidia-partnership/), while developing high impact research programs.
For full consideration, applications should be submitted by November 1, 2021, at which time the committee will begin reviewing applications. Applications received after this date may be considered at the discretion of the committee until the position is filled.
