    Postdoctoral Scholar in Data-driven Infectious Disease Modeling Research

    The University of South Florida is seeking to hire a postdoctoral scholar to participate in the development of data-driven infectious disease modeling research in accordance with the needs of funded research programs that will result in significant articles published in highly ranked, peer reviewed research journals.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced candidate to join this research initiative.

    About you

    Essential Qualifications: Competitive candidates must have a PhD in computational science and infectious disease modeling (or equivalent in software engineering and dynamical systems simulation), experience in data science, and experience in programing using modern simulation languages: viz, Matlab, C++, R. Python.

     

     

    Preferred Qualifications:  Experience in data science approaches for data assembly, processing and management; experience in developing, programing and calibrating disease systems models; knowledge of spatially-explicit network- and agent-based disease modelling; experience with developing model-based web applications/dashboards; experience in mentoring and supervising students in labs; experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate students; and capacity for excellent time management, communication and written skills.
