The Biomedical and Life Sciences Division (BIO) of CFD Research is developing computational tools for high profile projects in collaboration with US government, Academia, and Pharma industries. The main focus is the development of Bioinformatics workflows, multi-scale mathematical models, and commercial software tools for in vivo human physiology and pharmacology (PBPK/PD/Tox).

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in the design and development of bioinformatics and systems biology tools in general, and in particular, the development of quantitative pathway models of signaling and metabolic networks. Prior experience with in silico modeling of Physiology-based pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, and Toxicokinetics (e.g, viremia, sepsis, stress, etc.) is beneficial. Given the nature of the research projects, it is required that the candidate be a US Citizen or US Legal Permanent Resident (GreenCard holder).

    The job responsibilities include:

Lead algorithm development efforts for projects involving analysis of microarray and other high throughput and high content data such as transcriptomics and proteomics.
Assist, and later lead, in the construction and analysis of intracellular pathway models pertaining to particular phenomena (toxicology, infections, pathology, cellular stress, etc.) with special emphasis on    multi-scale mathematical modeling.
    Position Requirements:

Advanced degree in chemical or biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, biophysics, computational biochemistry, scientific computing or related field.
Experience in building, validating and using complex, system level models of biological systems
Core competency in numerical analysis focusing on differential equations (ODE, PDE) and parameter optimization
Expertise in scientific computing and programming – in particular R, Bioconductor, Matlab, Python, Simbiology, JAVA, and React.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) preparing technical material for documentation and reporting. Prior grant/proposal writing experience is a plus.
Candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
