UCI Symposium on Cell Fate on October 28-29, 2019
The NSF-Simons Center for Multiscale Cell Fate Research
(cellfate.uci.edu/) will host its 2019 annual symposium on
October 28-29 at the Beckman Center of the National Academies of
Sciences & Engineering on UC Irvine campus.
The symposium website including registration link is available at cellfate.uci.edu/symposium-2019/
This symposium will focus on the emergent properties of cell fate and
provides several opportunities for initiating collaborations between young
researchers across disciplines, including a competition for Interdisciplinary
Opportunity Awards that support collaborative projects. The symposium
invites submission of abstracts for posters or/and contributed talks. Travel
awards for young researchers are also available.

Subject: 3rd Exchange Workshop UK Quantitative Systems Pharmacology
The 3rd Exchange Workshop of the UK Quantitative Systems Pharmacology
(QSP) Network will be held on 9th and 10th September 2019 at the University of
Reading. The workshop is focused on exploring the use of Artificial Intelligence
(AI) and mechanistic QSP modelling approaches in pharmacological research
and the synergy between them in tackling problems and questions in the field.
QSP is a new emerging area of science. It brings a systems approach to the
development of pharmaceuticals, using quantitative approaches such as
mathematical modelling and data analysis to integrate subcellular genetic and
protein-protein interaction networks with body scale information and clinical data.
Confirmed invited speakers – Vincent Lemaire (GeneTech), Ben Macarthur
(University of Southampton), Marco Siccardi (University of Liverpool), Ben
Sidders (AstraZeneca), Joseph Standing and Ferran Hernandez (University
College London) and Jane White (University of Bath).
POSTER abstracts close FRIDAY 19TH JULY 2019. Please send your abstract
to m.tindall@reading.ac.uk Presenters will be informed by 26th July as to
whether their abstract has been accepted.
Further information on the UK QSP Network can be found at www.qsp-uk.net/

Call for applications within the interdisciplinary PhD program PharMetrX
The Graduate Research Training Program PharMetrX: Pharmacometrics &
Computational Disease Modelling is an interdisciplinary PhD program
bridging pharmacy and mathematics. It aims at understanding the
drug-patient-disease interaction by analysing data of drug
concentration, effect & disease profiles of pre-/clinical trials and of
therapeutic care by developing and using mathematical & statistical models.
See www.pharmetrx.de/ for further details.
Deadline for applications: 15 September 2019.
