bioRxiv preprints can now be submitted directly to the Bulletin of
Mathematical Biology
The Society for Mathematical Biology is happy to announce that authors
of manuscripts posted on the preprint server bioRxiv
(www.biorxiv.org/) can now submit their papers directly to the
Bulletin of Mathematical Biology (BMB).
The BMB has always welcomed manuscripts posted on bioRxiv, and we are
now delighted to offer submission of bioRxiv preprints to the BMB.
bioRxiv can save authors time in submitting papers to the BMB by
transmitting their manuscript files and metadata directly from
bioRxiv.
The Society for Mathematical Biology partnership with bioRxiv/Cold
Spring Harbor Laboratory emphasizes our commitment to rapid open
dissemination of scientific research.

Subject: Letters in Biomathematics (TLIB) is now in Scopus
We are happy to share an important milestone for the journal, Letters
in Biomathematics (TLIB). We are proud and excited to announce that
TLIB has now been accepted for inclusion in Scopus. TLIB is an open
access journal published by Taylor and Francis. It accepts manuscripts
in research, education, and review sections and uses a double-blind
review system.

Up to 5 PhD fellowships in Cognitive Neuroscience at SISSA, Trieste, Italy.
SISSA is an elite postgraduate research institution, focused on Maths,
Physics and Neuroscience. It operates in English: many among its students
and faculty are not Italian. Campus above Trieste, overlooking the Gulf.
Research approaches in the CNS PhD phdcns.sissa.it/ span the range
from cognitive psychology and imaging in humans to behavioral neuroscience
and multiple single-unit recording in rats, mathematical and computational
modeling; with research groups led by Domenica Bueti, Davide Crepaldi,
Mathew Diamond, Chris Mathys, Raffaella Rumiati, Alessandro Treves and
Davide Zoccolan. Allied approaches are pursued in other SISSA PhDs.
All admitted students receive a 4-year fellowship and engage full-time in
research based in Trieste, with limited coursework in the first few months,
talks and seminars throughout the year and a TEX event in the summer, see: TEX

•Seeking an independent and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher in Dr.
Popel’s laboratory in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and
Oncology, The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
•The successful candidate will join a team that combines
computational, experimental and clinical researchers using
computational systems biology and systems pharmacology to discover
mechanisms of immuno-oncology and immunotherapies.
•Specific skills include strong computational modeling of signaling
pathways and multiscale modeling from signaling pathways to tumor
scales; knowledge of immunology is a plus.
•Applicant must have a doctoral degree with a demonstrated record of
innovative scientific accomplishments as evidenced by first-author
papers published or accepted in premier journals.
•Qualified candidates must be able to work independently, demonstrate
outstanding communication skills, have a strong commitment to science,
and work well within a group.
•US citizens, permanent residents or holders of an F1/OPT visa with
at least six months of work authorization left.

We hope you will take the opportunity to announce the NSF Graduate
Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). Interested students should begin
at the applicant information page www.nsfgrfp.org . The GRFP supports
outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing
research-based Master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited United
States institutions. The program provides up to three years of
graduate education support, including an annual $34,000 stipend.
Applications for Mathematical Sciences topics are due October 26,
2018.
The GRFP also needs qualified faculty reviewers. Review panels are
